Our proven impact and expertise

Levantina Consulting is built on a career of direct engagement — not proximity to it. The assignments below represent a cross-section of the work that informs this practice: field presence, institutional relationships, and deliverables that have shaped real programmes and real outcomes.

Social Cohesion Advisor
Pathway 3: Strengthened Social Fabric
VNG International | Amsterdam/ Rural Damascus, Syria | 2026

Engaged as Social Cohesion Advisor on the Sustainable Development through Improved Local Governance (SDLG) Syria Programme, a pilot initiative funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The programme works with local administrations in Rural Damascus Governorate to support early recovery, strengthen local governance, and create conditions for the safe and voluntary return of displaced Syrians.

Leading the design and delivery of Pathway 3, Strengthened Social Fabric, including the development of a Pathway 3 Coordination and Action Document and five operational sub-deliverables: a citizen participation template, a capacity-building curriculum for local administrations, an HLP integration guidance note, a stakeholder mapping and engagement strategy, and a diaspora engagement strategy.

Work combines remote advisory with direct in-country engagement, including field consultations with local councils, civil society organisations, and community actors in the Eastern Ghouta district. The assignment sits at the intersection of social cohesion, inclusive governance, and return programming in one of the most complex post-conflict environments of the current period.
